Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI), who has been spearheading digital transformation within the Japanese government, decided to digitalise the way grants are managed.

This talk/presentation will focus on the approach, methodology, principles, and frameworks leveraged by the team to deliver sustainable user centered solutions; which are built with whole-of-Government technologies, platforms and standards; that are aligned with whole-of-Health enterprise strategies. The talk/presentation will also touch on the technical solution, and its most integral component, the web CMS built with Drupal/GovCMS.

We often hear that we should make the sites we build and maintain accessible and that there are tools to help us achieve our goals. But what do these tools do and how much do they help before we have to intervene and do more manual work?

Between April and June 2020, Annex Digital was engaged to build some of Australia's principle COVID response websites. These were to be major parts of the national response, and we were given days to prepare them. In the end, we did this four times. This session will look at the projects and how we were able to execute from zero to Critical Infrastructure in under a week, the challenges we faced, and the technical solutions we used to get these over the line.
